I attended the ACS meeting on August 23 (the first day of it) and it went alright at most.

It was ACS’s 150th anniversary since it’s founding in 1876 and the meeting for it was hosted in Chicago, Illinois this year.

When we arrived there initially at 10:00 am, there were hardly anyone there. But I had to admit, as I was walking around, there were some cool things to see around there despite most of it’s areas being closed or empty.

As for the presentations though, they were presented well but there wasn’t anything too interesting or useful for me since they were mainly targeted for educators and not for high school students.

Overall I’d say that the first day of the meeting was probably weaker because of the lack of “important” lectures for me (which were tomorrow, and sadly also a school day) but it was an unique experience seeing a real chemist meeting from all of the young adults seeking a future in chemistry.
